CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” in “AIRBAG SYSTEM”. General Description > CAUTION 1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. 2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE 3. Remove the clip (A) from the air intake boot. 4. Loosen the clamp (B) connecting the air intake boot and air cleaner case (rear). 5. Loosen the clamp (C) which connects the air intake boot and throttle body. 6. Remove the air intake boot from the throttle body, and move it to the left side wheel apron. 7. Drain the brake fluid. Clutch Fluid 8. Disconnect the clutch pipe from the connector. 9. Remove the clutch bracket. 10. Disconnect the tank hose from the clutch pipe. 11. Remove the instrument panel lower cover. Instrument Panel Lower Cover > REMOVAL 12. Remove the steering column. Steering Column > REMOVAL 13. Disconnect the connector from the clutch switch and clutch start switch. 14. Disconnect the connector from the brake switch. 15. Remove the snap pin and clevis pin connecting the operating rod and brake pedal. 16. Remove the pedal assembly. NOTE: Place vinyl, etc. in order not to drop the brake fluid to the floor carpet. |
Starting engine
Apply the parking brake.
Shift the select lever into the "P"
