Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Inspection mode procedure

It is possible to diagnose the DTC by performing the indicated inspection mode. After correcting the DTC, perform a necessary inspection mode and make sure that the function is resumed correctly and the DTC is recorded.

Diagnostic procedure:

1. Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Clear Memory Mode

2. Read the DTC and check that the DTC is not displayed. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. After solving the DTC, repeat from step 1).

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and then leave it for 1 second or more.

4. Read the DTC and check that the DTC is not displayed. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.

Diagnostic procedure:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. After solving the DTC, repeat from step 1).

3. Park the vehicle in the place subjected to direct sunlight.

4. Turn the ignition switch to ON and then leave it for 1 second or more.

5. Read the DTC and check that the DTC is not displayed. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE:

If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.
