DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

This malfunction is stored if the electronic parking brake is operated with high frequency in a short period of time.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

Parking brake system does not operate sometimes.

STEP	CHECK	YES	NO
1.CHECK OUTPUT OF AMBIENT SENSOR USING SUBARU SELECT MONITOR. 1) Using the Subaru Select Monitor, select “Data monitor”. Subaru Select Monitor > OPERATION 2) Read the «Ambient Temp Sensor» displayed on the screen.	Is the ambient sensor output value displayed on the monitor within the range of ±10°C from the ambient temperature-	Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC C1983 HIGH FREQUENCY OPERATION	Repair the ambient sensor circuit.
2.CHECK VDCCM&H/U. 1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF. 2) Stop the vehicle for approximately one hour. 3) Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Clear Memory Mode 4) Perform the Inspection Mode. Inspection Mode 5) Read the DTC. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)	Is the same DTC displayed-	Replace the VDCCM&H/U. VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U)	Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) > DTC C1983 HIGH FREQUENCY OPERATION
3.CHECK DETECTION OF OTHER DTCS FOR VDC. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)	Is any other DTC displayed-	Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)	Currently, it is normal. There may have been a poor contact in the harness and connector or a temporarily noise interference. NOTE: This DTC may be stored if the electronic parking brake is operated continuously.
