Subaru Legacy BN/BS (2015-2019) Service Manual: Removal
CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to “CAUTION” of “General Description” in “AIRBAG SYSTEM”. General Description > CAUTION 1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. 2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. NOTE 3. Remove the clip (A) from the air intake boot. 4. Loosen the clamp (B) connecting the air intake boot and air cleaner case (rear). 5. Loosen the clamp (C) which connects the air intake boot and throttle body.
6. Remove the air intake boot from the throttle body, and move it to the left side wheel apron.
7. Drain the brake fluid. Clutch Fluid 8. Remove the clutch pipe from the clutch hose and connector. CAUTION: Be careful not to spill the brake fluid. Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.
9. Remove the clamp, then remove the clutch hose from the clutch hose bracket.
10. Remove the clutch hose from operating cylinder. 11. Remove the clutch bracket. 12. Remove the tank hose from the clutch pipe. 13. Remove the instrument panel lower cover. Instrument Panel Lower Cover > REMOVAL 14. Remove the steering column. Steering Column > REMOVAL 15. Remove the pedal assembly. Clutch Pedal > REMOVAL 16. Remove the clutch pipe from the mass damper, clutch damper, master cylinder and clutch pipe grommet.

Inspection
